Significant decline in bookings - Tampa FL

My Airbnb is in the Tampa area. This is my 4th year on Airbnb and I've experienced the slowest period ever. It's so bad I literally don't have any bookings until end of January. Do you experience the same thing?

I guess I wanted to see if it's the current market in general or just my booking. I recently had two bad reviews - one was an obvious revenge review, because the guest wanted to cancel 24 hrs before checking in and I said no, but Airbnb refused to take it down after many forms and phone calls. The review was full with lies as well, but they did not care. The second review had nothing to do with their experience at my house, but complaint about us reminding them of our non-smoking policy after our neighbor complaint to me that it smells pot so bad it's unpleasant to stay in her own yard with her two kids. So very politely I told them that we have received a complaint from the neighbor and just as a reminder we have strict no smoking policy and we wished them to enjoy their stay. They left me one star for this and labeled me as inconsidered and my whole neighborhood as racist. Again Airbnb didn't do anything.

Hi @Mariya104

When submitting, avoid framing it as “unfair” or “not true” — instead, directly cite the exact Airbnb policy rule the review violates. For example:

  • “This review mentions an open claim, which is prohibited.”
  • “The guest is retaliating for a damage fee, violating the Extortion policy.”
  • “The content is irrelevant to their stay (talking about airport traffic instead of the property).”

Never argue “unfair” or “dishonest but highlight the exact sentence in the guest’s review that violates the policy. Always quote the policy name (Irrelevant Content, Extortion, Mention of Claims, etc.).

Copy wording from Airbnb’s policy page so support sees you’re pointing at their rules.
