Air bnb should not have a star rating unless they disclose what the stars were for exactly, after all unless you receive all 5 stars we want to know who & why they left the less than perfect rating. We can not improve if we don't know what they feel we need to improve on. Seems like a no brainer!
Agreed? What employees? Try to get help, it's impossible, I've never seen anything like it! The ratings is flawed on both sides...I posted a 5 star review for a host in London and understood that my post wouldn't be seen until they posted a review on me, not true. My review was posted and I have yet to get feedback as a guest, which I value as well. The host texted to say we were great but never followed through
As a Host, we are new and have had 5 Star review from all the guests, since we asked and checked but our review bar on our site shows 4.5??? Who do ask about that, an employee??? Right!!
I like Airbnb but I'm leaning towards VRBO since there's less of this crap and actually before Airbnb that who we used for all our travel and never had an issue....something to think about?
I agree that the star system in flawed. I had a guest point out an area I not not totally cleaned (I had not noticed it) on her arrival the first night. I arranged that the next morning when she was out I would come and clean everything, which I did, so she had a beartifully clean place for the 6 or so days of her stay. In spite of this she gave me a 3 star rating saying the house was dirty. There was no mention I my immediately correcting an honest mistake. This 3 star rating is likely to cost me a thousand dollar income loss or more.
I think it would be better to just have honest reviews, encouraging both hosts and guests to be as kind as possible, while at the same time being truthful.
