Temperature Alert Device

Fellow Alaskan & Canadian hosts.  Anyone have advice on a wi-fi enabled temperature alert device? 

I've had guests leave my garage door open at -40F.  Looking for a device that could send me a remote alert in case this ever happens again.

The only one I could find is a Temp Stick. But it looks like their app hasn't been updated in years.  TIA

Amazon has a whole bunch of them, some at less than $30.00.

Yeah.  None on Amazon have an app that's been updated in years.

I’m researching this because the pipes froze and burst in our rental house last winter.

I haven’t studied it yet but there’s a lot of information.

 I don’t know if app updates are significant. Possibly the manufacturer got it right and there’s no need to mess with it.

 I would be more interested in the reviews on Amazon or Consumer Reports.

If you find something good I hope you let us know. Last year it wasn’t just the Frozen North that got frozen.
