Tips That Helped Me Improve My Bookings

Tips That Helped Me Improve My Bookings

Hi everyone,

I’ve noticed a lot of hosts (new and experienced) asking how they can get more bookings, so I wanted to share a few things that have helped me and might help others too. Every listing is different, but sometimes small adjustments make a big difference:

• Updating photos so they’re bright and clear
• Making the first lines of your description more guest-focused
• Checking what similar listings in your area are offering
• Keeping the calendar updated and responding quickly to inquiries
• Highlighting one unique feature that makes your place stand out
• Reviewing your pricing during high and low seasons

If anyone wants general suggestions on improving visibility or guest appeal, feel free to share a bit about your listing here. I’m happy to give feedback based on what has worked for me and what I’ve seen other hosts do successfully.

Hope this helps some of you!

Thanks for sharing these ideas @Selome0 🌻

How do you suggest hosts take their listing photos - do you think they need to hire professional photographers, or can they manage by themselves?

Looking forward to more such insights!

Great question @Bhumika! Honestly, it depends on the host’s space, budget, and skills.

You don’t always need a professional photographer. Many hosts take their own photos and still get great results as long as they follow some basics:

Use natural light as much as possible

Clean and declutter before shooting

Take wide shots to show the layout

Hold the camera steady or use a tripod

Capture every important space so guests know exactly what to expect

Add a few detail photos for personality

Professional photos help when:

The space has unique design

Lighting is tricky

You want a more polished, magazine-style look

But for many hosts, a good phone camera and proper lighting are more than enough.

If you ever want, I can share a simple step-by-step photo checklist you can follow.

Happy hosting! 🌿

Thanks so much for elaborating on some of these ideas @Selome0 🌻

I also noticed you have emphasized on unique amenities. What kind of unique amenities do you think are popular among guests?

I'd love to read your insights!
