Hi fellow hosts,
I’m reaching out because I feel truly violated as a host by what just happened. A review on our listing was previously investigated by Airbnb and removed for violating the Review Policy (it was retaliatory). I trusted that decision.
To my shock, the exact same review has now reappeared. Support told me the guest may have submitted “proof or documentation,” but I was never notified or given the same fair chance to provide my side. That feels like a serious breach of fairness and trust.
As hosts, our reputations and livelihoods depend on reviews. To have a review that was already deemed retaliatory suddenly reinstated , without transparency, without equal opportunity, and without explanation , is not just unfair, it feels like a violation of my rights as a host.
If Airbnb wants to maintain trust in its community, it needs to apply policies consistently and fairly to both guests and hosts. Otherwise, what protection do we really have against retaliatory or defamatory reviews?
Has anyone else faced this situation? How did you handle it?

For consideration: Some guests damage properties and, due to misunderstandings with family or friends, unfairly blame the hosts. I am speaking directly because this has happened to me twice. Therefore, fellow hosts, I support your case and request a slight policy change to assist both hosts and guests better. Thanks.

@Jenelie0 it looks like AI is at work here. I have just posted a (different) issue, but it's all AI stuffing things up. I wonder if AirBnB has someone in their IT department who is being paid well by a competitor, stuffing it up on purpose so we all stop using the platform.
God Luck

I am giving up Airbnb, so fed up of this nonsense
