To block or not to block - that is the dilemma
I will be very glad when I can give back as much help as I've been receiving as a new host. Here is my dilemma:
My property has 2 separate yards, entrances, everything. They are so separate that my guest unit cannot see my front area once they get to their destination. We are around the corner from each other and I'm above with a front yard facing the street. They are below with their yard facing the river.
The problem is that I just had 2 very large trees removed from my yard - the yard you have to drive past before they turn the corner to go to their property where they are no longer seeing mine.
Consequently, my yard right now looks like hell in my opinion. Kind of reminds me of Garth Brooks mud and blood description of the rodeo. It just looks like fenced in dead yard with a lot of dirt and pulp.
Bookings begin next week.
Do I block another week or two so I have time to fix the yard? Or do I just explain to anyone who wants to book in that timeframe that the front yard will be out of view from their unit and that it's a mess because I'm landscaping it?
Thoughts are sure appreciated.

@Tamara682 Then I would add the following to my description.
'We are remodelling our front yard at present. We will schedule the work so as not to disrupt your stay and the yard is not visible once you arrive at your property the current devastation may be shocking when you arrive'

@Tamara682 I would add a section into my description saying that the yard will be in a state during the period xx to YY. Also check that people have read this when they book or enquire to book. We do a similar thing when our boiler is serviced as it takes all day and might disrupt people if the weather got cold in September.

@Mike-And-Jane0the only problem is that I don't have an end date for XX. Believe it or not, in our literal desert, it snowed on Monday and now my bids and even current yard maintenance schedule is off by 3 days. Snowed again today and is supposed to snow in the morning.
We're setting records - we are desert. The irony is snow this morning and by afternoon steam was coming off the roofs, yards, and fields. Crazy!
It should be in the 70s and was just a few days ago.

@Tamara682 As your personal yard is not seen by guests at all, even through windows, then it really should not impact upon their stay. However, if your landscaping works are likely to be noisy then that could be a different issue. In your position I would probably go live with the listing, but as you mentioned, just point out to anyone enquiring that these necessary works are being carried out but should not disturb them in any way.

@Kate867 thank you. Not seen by guests at all AFTER they see it first before anything else on the way to their place.... My folks will work around guests but that means nothing gets done during their stay which I can live with but could delay the process.

Update: I did try it and I do appreciate your insight. In the end, I just blocked the dates. I'm new and these are first impressions. If I had a few reviews and such under my belt it would be different. It's an early setback I hope will pay for itself later 🙂
Thank you because I am shocked! I've never had trees removed before and these ones were well over 50 years old. And if they would've been healthy and didn't drop pinecones and acorns all over the place or suck up all the water for the rest of the yard, I'd have left them. But there was really no environmentally friendly aspect to them.
