Under reserving accommodation

My guests are reserving accommodation for 1 person and then demanding accommodation for 4/5 guests.  Instead of as per the reservation.

This  last guest that wanted accommodation accepted the revised Bill, but after being requested to pay by Airbnb , He just simply declined, it really was an awful situation.

His family was very bullying and really didn't give a **bleep**.

 

I wondered if anyone else had experienced this type of situation and what can be done about it

Tough situation! What we've done when there's a reservation for 1 person is make sure it is not a mistake, which it often is. We communicate. When confirming a reservation which we always do, we state how many persons it is for. We also confirm that they've read and agreed to the house rules, and ask if there are any questions. We are home short hosts, and thus it is not easy for guests to bring extras or to ignore our rules. We communicate at least twice before scheduled arrival. Perhaps more communication might help forestall this situation for you, we hope so!

@Lynne-Mary1 The problem is caused by your listing being set up wrongly. You need one listing per room in your hotel. You need to duplicate the listing and then correct EVERY section as some bits do not duplicate correctly. Also to make this easier to manage switch on Pro tools from your account and you will get the multi calendar.
