Hi, I'm trying to understand a strict-flexible cancellation policy which states:
"For a full refund of accommodation fees, cancellation must be made within 48 hours of booking and at least 14 full days prior to listing’s local check-in time (or 3:00 PM if not specified) on the day of check-in."
Does this mean that if I book today to reserve a place five months from now, the only way to get a full refund is to cancel within 48 hours of today? Or would I get a full refund as long as I cancel prior to 14 days of my reservation?
Just a little confused because it seems odd to be penalised for reserving so far ahead of time.
Thanks.
Hi everyone, I was trying my best to read through the thread regarding the strict (grace period) cancellation policy....and I'm still confused 😞 I booked an Airbnb back on July 12th fo2-night stay on August 24 and 25th. At the time I was definite about this stay but then just recently family circumstances erupted and well...I have to cancel my stay. But, when I attempted to cancel last night and today, the window to cancel informed me that I was only getting a 50% refund. SO, I reached out to my host...which btw, they are super nice and very understanding!!.. I informed them of my situation and they totally were cool about me canceling and reassured me about getting a full refund. However, I informed her when I tried to cancel....the screen said I was to only get $2.25 back!!!???? I'm kind of the guinea pig for them because they never had a guest cancel far out in advance. So, they were not familiar if I would receive a full refund or not but hope that I do. But there's more. I only paid half of my total when I booked. Will I just receive half of the half that I booked? The last half is supposed to be paid on the 8th of this month....I just really would like to get this resolved without any hassle 😞
Any help and/or suggestions would help and will be much appreciated!
Problem resolved. Due to pay only half of my total amount during booking, I assumed I was getting half from the amount I had paid to date. However, instead, the 50% refund is based on the total of my entire trip. It was confusing but it makes more sense now.
Cancel before 12:00 PM on Feb 13 and get a full refund, minus the first 30 days.
Hi everybody
Lets assume I will book an apartment for a period from Feb 13 to March 13.
What does minus the first 30 days mean?
Does the above policy mean I can refund my full money for a month ?
thanks in advance
