When it works Airbnb is a great platform to find an apartment to stay in, but when a problem arises they are EXTREMELY unprofessional in resolving their customer issues.
The day of writing this ticket is September 13. 2023. and when my host canceled my 2 months advanced booking 3 days before my travel to Spain, the Barcelona AirBnb support team in the first 24 hours of my complaint request was able to only provide a "Hello message, just be patient".
Waiting for their response all competitively priced apartments were already booked. After about 32 hours and after finding a way to call them because messaging didn't work and nobody was responding to my questions they were able to provide me a 40$ discount coupon.
This would be a good gesture in a situation where this didn't happen to me 2 days before my stay in Barcelona. As a result, I needed to find a different apartment to stay in without the help of their staff. I paid 338$ (which is 50%) more for my stay and they didn't care enough to understand my situation and to provide an adequate solution.
If anyone else has a similar issue let me know so we can get their attention to resolve this kind of case in the future.
