Welcome Gift

what can i leave as a welcome gift for a couple staying for a weekend getaway

We leave chocolate candy or something seasonal. We have chickens so we leave 4-6 eggs if they like. We will ask if they like wine and will leave a bottle in the tiny house for them.

@Jennifer3220  While it's a nice gesture, there isn't any need to leave a welcome gift for guests.

@Jennifer3220  If it's just a couple, I'd get the children's toys way out of view before they arrive. Nothing spoils the romance faster than a reminder of its consequences.

For paying guests, there's not really a distinction between a "gift" and a feature that's included in what they paid for. But if you offer consumables like snacks, drinks, or individual toiletries, you can present them in a "welcome basket" so it's clear that these items are dedicated for their personal enjoyment.

A couple times I had a welcome basket and my favorite was a couple truly’s, small pieces of candy, and a couple water bottles. I plan to add popcorn bags in mine.

I leave a welcome basket and gear it towards the demographic who will be staying.  I often leave a plate with a nice selection of cheeses, biscuits, grapes and chutney - it goes down really well.

If the weather is super cold, dark or wet I’ll make up a cosy-up movie basket with hot chocolate, marshmallows, crisps, microwave popcorn and chocolates/biscuits (cookies).

I usually leave something for my guests.  Sometimes, homemade bread, maybe Artisian Crackers, Cheesy Scones, or  bottle of wine if the guest has let me know of a special occasion.

Funny enough, in 2021, I mixed up an anniversary of two reservations.  I had an anniversary card and a bottle of wine for the guests, meant for another guest. Oops😔

Ironically that guest and his wife were having their anniversary.  They couldn't figure out how I knew.

Didn't  tell them "dumb luck"🤣

@M199 What are the chances, a really happy coincidence! 😃
