What do guests pay for an extended stay when the rate is different?

What do guests pay for an extended stay when the rate is different?

When a guest requests to extend their stay, and the price for the additional dates are different then their original booking, what rate do they receive?

Do they get charged what we have listed as our actual rates OR the rate they have received on their original booking?

We had a long term guest extend  previously and I think the guests received the same daily rate of the original booking, rather than the rate we had listed for the dates they extended.

Thank you in advance for helping us figure this out!

@Tyler-And-Lisa0 All rates are on a 'per night' basis so the guest should be charged the original rate for the nights already booked and the new rate for the added nights. They will however have any weekly/monthly discounts that may be generated applied to the whole stay.

Thank you kindly, that is very helpful!
