Good question. This is something we do ahead of time. We sometimes get a reservation request for one person only. This is often for two, but not accurately done. We confirm the number of guests as one, and when the guest responds "oh, it is two" we ask them to correct the reservation to be accurate. We then ask for the 2nd person's name, for the record. If a guest shows up with an extra person not on the reservation we'd make them welcome and gently but firmly require that the reservation details be fixed; for the platform, for our insurance, and for compliance with our license requirements.

@Janie109 It happens a lot that groups of 2-6 book for one person by mistake. We ask them to send a change request. Its no issue for us or them as we don't charge per person. Clearly some will try and scam hosts but most are honest mistakes.
