What protection does a guest have from a challenging host?

What protections does a guest have from a crazy host?  I have a laundry list of things going on with this host.  She yells and screams at me for things that are not even house rules.  I have plenty of proof, just need to speak with an attorney first.  The most recent thing was I went to move my rental car out of the community since there is no over night parking.  I come back an she is waiting for me inside an starts going off on me saying its late that i'm creating noise.  When all i did is open the door to walk in.  Then she's screaming at airbnb over the phone about how bad I am.  I'm thinking she will probably even call the cops tomorrow.  Never seen this in my life.

Why don't you just leave by walking out the door, end of drama.

Why would you need to speak to an attorney about an uncomfortable host/guest situation - how bizarre. @Randy627

If the host is making you feel uncomfortable because of her behaviour, flag with Airbnb (presumably you have follow up messages with the host on the platform outlining each incidence -  and see if you can get a penalty free cancellation and ask their help to find alternative accommodation.

Hi @Randy627

Sorry to hear about this - it doesn't sound like the stay is going smoothly - and I hope that things haven't escalated since you posted this.

There's an article here about what you can do if something goes wrong during your stay.  It sounds like it might be best to contact Airbnb directly about what's happening, and provide them with the evidence you've mentioned, and see what they can do to help.

Feel free to come back and let us know the outcome.

Jenny
