What to do if guests are slow to leave reviews
Hi guys, please, may you give me an advice?
What to do with a guest that had a good time, who wrote me on the email a lot of good thinks about the house and about its stay, but who is slow to give you a review?
I already wrote to him after the check out, reminding him of the review, and he told me he would certanly do it.
But now the days are running out and still no review. 😞
The host was very nice, i already wrote his reviews. Can he write his reviews even after the 15 days, or can he no longer?
Thank you in advance.

I get impatient too lol. his has been working for me. My pleasant note reminding Please write a review. I just go back to that message every few days and add or change Emoji. It appears that triggers another notification by the Airbnb App to the Guest no ruffled feathers though I am just a smiley face or thumbs up.

@Marie8425 What do you mean by add or change an emoiji? Do you "React" to your own message with a heart or something?

I send my polite message reminding haha. The Airbnb Platform for every message has the dots on the side. Click and it will let you add an emoji. So I wait about a week to send mt reminder. Then usually every 3 days after I jut add a smiley or thumbs up. The most I have had to do is two emojis. I get my review and an apology lol Guests know that reviews are important. That's why they chose me.

Hi there,
if the review time expired (14 days after checkout), it won't be possible to leave a review.

Hello,
Don't do anything, if they want to leave a review they will. Remember they are on vacation, probably very busy. Most people won't leave you a review even if they really enjoyed your place.

I don't mention reviews at all and most guest leave one.
Years ago I tried including "Feel free to leave a review if you have a chance but no worries if you don't." But that was just to a handful of guest and for whatever reason quit doing that as I don't think it really mattered.
A lot of host also wait for guest to leave a review. If not the guest gets a notification the host left a review but they can't read it and might be more cautious and leave only a 4 star review.
When I was a guest the host sent a message after check out that she planned to leave me 5 star review. I thought that was a good idea. She didn't ask me for a 5 star review. But the idea was to let me the guest feel more secure and more inclined to also reciprocate the good will and 5 star review.
A lot of guest will wait many days or even just before the 2 week deadline to leave a review. I'd say most do that. I think they want to wait to make sure there are no additional fees or charges for their stay.

Airbnb has fallen below my expectations when asking for support. I am hoping to rent long-term off Airbnb platform. They are too unprofessional because all of their support is automated, even the ambassadors, supervisors sound so automated and scripted.

Simply do not leave them a review until they leave you one. I've learn this after accommodating a few selfish guest. They are sure to let you know how beautiful the place is in other messages. However when it's time to depart and leave a message you no longer get reply.

Hey @Serena587 , It sounds like your guest had a great stay, so that’s a win already 😊
Sometimes people just forget — even with good intentions. Unfortunately, after 15 days, neither of you can leave a review anymore.
You’ve done the right thing by reminding them. If you’re still within the window, maybe send one last friendly nudge. Otherwise, take it as a compliment that they sent such a nice message — and on to the next great guest!
You’ve got this 💪

We always write a nice welcome card and basket of snacks with a please let us know if you need anything and if you could kindly review us within one week of your stay it’s appreciated as every review counts!
In our checkout messages we have under other: you please leave a review within a week of your stay, please let us know if anything needs repair or if you have any suggestions to making your stay more comfortable. We maybe have had a handful of people not leave a review. Some wrote such nice words in the guest book and didn’t leave a review, others wrote in the messages I’ll leave a great review and didn’t.
Years ago I didn’t write a review for two hosts and I feel bad but we were traveling then back to work and I forgot. I think the review process has since gotten extended.
If you leave a review the guest is prompted that you left a review and they can see it when they leave a review. The system also prompts a couple more times before the expiration of 14 days to review.
I personally don’t ask for a 5 star review (I think it’s presumptuous and not appropriate), nor do I say what I will review to encourage them to review but I know some hosts have done that. Some hosts have left review guidelines as some guests don’t know what the numbers may mean. Others don’t know we need a 4.8 or higher rating for superhost status and any listing below 4.6 could be in jeopardy of being delisted.
