Our guests are family groups and friend groups, so fairly typical. Our average guest count is 6 with a maximum allowed of 10 (by permit)
We often host three generations of a family and our property works really well for this type of situation.
We also get groups of friends, often as couples celebrating something special or as a group of guys or gals in town for a particular event.
We have 9 individual beds across 4 bedrooms so we can accommodate a variety of sleeping situations.

Thanks for sharing your guest situation with us. You get a good mix of people staying by the sounds of it. Do you find that most guests use all the bedrooms, or do you sometimes have smaller groups too?
We don't regularly get all four bedrooms used, interestingly. Our average guest count is 6 occupants and that usually ends up with using only three bedrooms.
Sometimes the bunk room goes unused if no children or no one is a single sleeper. And sometimes it's one of the queen bedrooms as the bunk room is full of children.
Since this rental is also our home we prefer to have a lighter level of occupancy in general.

Most of my guests are small families, often looking for a quick getaway or a short stay of one or two nights to enjoy a change of scenery. Many come just to relax and unwind, and they particularly enjoy our common area, the poolside space. It’s the heart of our property, where guests love to lounge outdoors, soak up the sun, and spend quality time together. Whether it’s enjoying a quiet morning coffee by the pool area or letting the kids splash around in the afternoon, the pool area offers a laid-back, inviting atmosphere that keeps guests coming back.
@Patricia2526 - There’s something about sitting outside with a coffee in the morning that just makes a holiday, right? (That's why I try to do that every morning even when at home!) Do families prefer to have their meals outdoors, or do they usually head out to eat?
That really depends on our weather haha! Luckily, rain or shine, guests have plenty of dining options in our area. We’re surrounded by dozens of restaurants, ranging from affordable fast food to high-end dining experiences. Whether you’re craving local flavors, international cuisine, or just a quick bite, there’s something nearby to suit every budget and taste.

Hi @Rebecca ! I have 2 properties:
Both properties hold up to 8 guests.
My city destination attracts all types of guests including families or groups (friend groups), plus the random business travelers coming for a convention or business meeting.
My mountain destination is more obviously just people coming to enjoy the outdoors. My listing is 5 hours from Los Angeles so lots of drive traffic with dogs. While I initially decided "no pets" because I didn't want the drama of hair and potential damage, I changed my mind when I realized likely 25% of travelers are probably bringing their dogs. I didn't want to miss out of those potential bookings especially during slow seasons. It was worth it. Sure, I've lost a few white sheets to paw prints. But 99% of time, there is no damage but just extra hair clean up (and I pay my cleaners more for that).
