@Lizandra5

That's up to you. How often do you want eyes on the inside of the space? Pre-COVID I would go in and clean/refresh every 6 or 7 days. This was pre-arranged with the guest ahead of time of course. Now, during COVID, we do a linen swap outside once a week. The guest knows to contact me if they need anything or notify me if there is anything wrong or broken. Because they are staying longer-term (2+ weeks) and I am a local host, I have developed a relationship with them and trust them. If you are not able to meet your guests or if they don't communicate well, I would suggest going in to clean once a week but make sure the necessary safety precautions are taken and don't spring it on your guest last minute. These are delicate times.

@Lizandra5  In the past we offered a linen/towels change for guests staying more than a week, we went in did a light cleaning, e.g. wiped down counters, emptied the dishwaster/picked up random dishes, straightened pillows and remade the beds, removed trash...although this was somewhat dependent on how messy the guests were, too messy and we did less as we didn't want to touch their belongings.  I'm not sure how to handle that in the days of COVID, you could either offer the same service and go in w/mask and gloves or find a way to give guests access to clean towels and sheets at the half way point.

@Lizandra5,

Similar to @Mark116 and @Emilia42, pre COVID-19, we would wash/exchange bath towels and the guest's personal laundry every 3 days, and once a week cleaned the space and changed the bed linen.  Nowadays, I have plans to install compact washers in the suites so guests can wash the towels and personal laundry.  We will provide cleaning supplies, and still exchange the bed linen weekly, but will not make the bed.

@Lizandra5  With the current COVID situation, I would suggest you don't clean mid-stay. Make this clear to guests, that they are responsible for keeping the place clean, to ensure safety for both you and them during this pandemic, and provide them with cleaning supplies.
