Hi,
I hope your day is going well.
Why is my refund a little over $200 short of my initial payment when I cancelled within the 'full refund' period?

@Sea2505 have you tried contacting Airbnb support? When you cancel a reservation within the 'full refund' period, you should generally receive a refund of the entire amount you paid, minus any fees that might not be refundable. However, there are a few factors that could affect the refund amount. Airbnb's service fees might not be fully refundable, depending on the timing of your cancellation. When you contact Airbnb support, have your reservation details, a brief explanation of your situation, and the discrepancy in the refund amount. Hope this helps!
Hi @Sea2505
Full refunds for cancellations are dependent on the Host cancellation policy and when you cancelled. The Airbnb Guest Service Fee is not always refunded depending on the circumstances of your cancellation.
Probably best to contact Airbnb to inquire about the refund, since we are not aware of all the circumstances surrounding your cancellation.

Hello @Sea2505, following on from @Alicia753 and @Joan2709s suggestion relating to contacting Airbnb Support. I just wanted to drop in and mention that you can contact them through the Help Centre: https://www.airbnb.co.uk/help/?audience=guest
I also wanted to share quick tip for navigating our community. Always tag the member you're responding to. This ensures they get a notification of your message. You can do this by using the @ symbol and selecting the user from the drop-down menu 😊
Best wishes,
Sophia
Thanks for responding. Good to know, but I didn't do that.
@Sea2505 from memory Airbnb will not refund its service fee if you have overlapping reservations with it for the same dates. So if a guest books a second place before they cancel the first place they may not get a full refund.
