Try to restart your phone or app before retrying again. 

After multiple failed attempts, Airbnb often locks SMS sending for 24 hours. Wait out that cooldown (usually 24 hours) before retrying.

Contact Airbnb support from the phone verification screen, select “Need Help”. Airbnb typically responds within 12–24 hours to help you add or update your number

I'm having the same issue, it's been three straight days and I cannot add my phone number. I waited 24 hours, one try and get the "wait 24 hours" message again and again. I called Support they said I have to wait. Today was the 4th day and nothing. How did you get it to work?
