how to assess a possible guest without them having a review?

@Doron29 you can't other than by asking them questions such as why they are visiting etc. Don't forget it works both ways - We were always supremely grateful when our first guests booked our place given we had no track record whatsoever.

thanks for that. i understand that dynamic. however the possible guest in question utilized airbnb a few times before but has NO reviews. i've asked them why and they've said they have no idea.

@Doron29 I had exactly the same concern last weekend. The guest had stayed 3 times previously with no reviews. They left the apartment spotless and were no trouble at all. 

Oh and while I am here - Can I suggest you create a profile and have a proper photo. It should attract more guests as they like to see who they are dealing with.

I think they're legit, liar would give you some information. Beside I had more trip recorded than my reviews, it happens and I don't think it's that weird. If back in the day a host asked me why I'd give the same answer cuz I had no clue. 

Anyways, listen to your gut, I wish I listened to mine, my first guests were beyond words...
