Morocco saw its strongest earthquake in more than a century on Friday, with rescuers using their bare hands to dig for survivors.
European countries have sent aid to Morocco, following Friday's catastrophic earthquake that destroyed homes, blocked roads and wiped entire villages of the map.
Soldiers and aid workers have been racing to reach remote areas in the Atlas Mountains which may be almost entirely destroyed.
Meanwhile, locals dig the rubble - often with shovels and their bare hands - in a desperate hunt for survivors.
So far the disaster is known to have killed more than 2,100 people, but that number is expected to rise.
The United Nations estimated that 300,000 people were affected by Friday night's magnitude 6.8 quake, while some Moroccans have complained on social networks that the government wasn’t allowing more outside help.

Hello @Mohamed-Houssam0
If there's government travel advisories against travel to areas in Morroco then yes a guest can cancel penalty free under Airbnb's EC policy.
Morocco earthquake live updates: More than 2,000 dead; Marrakech residents sleep outdoors.

Helen, we are having the same problem. We only want to cancel in Marrekesh, not our whole Morocco trip. We live in an area in the USA with earthquakes and the REALITY is that there will be aftershocks for up to a month after the first earthquake. Old buildings are compromised. If I live there, that is a different story, but to actually make a holiday trip there is irresponsible for ME to do. AirBNB had this issue with Maui recently with the fires. They should absolutely cancel if there is a natural disaster if somebody wants to cancel EVEN IF there are no travel advisories.
this is how airbnb responded:
They did not fall under the extenuating circumstances of the earthquake). this means Marrakesh is not affected. I've never seen customer service this bad.
We have the same problem. AirBNB needs to refund the Marrekesh bookings IF the visitor wants to refund. Not doing so is irresponsible on AirBNBs part. Will AirBNB pay for my evacuation if there is an aftershock and I am stuck in Marrekesh? NO, they will not. But travel insurance will also NOT cover it either at this point because we now know there could be another earthquake in the immediate future. AIRBNB please do better!
@Mohamed-Houssam0 @Stephanie2829 what do the hosts of the properties you have booked say? I know in Maui that hosts on the other side of the island were desperate to have guests visit and support the local economy. I don't know the situation in Marakesh
The situation is very bad, people are still sleeping outside. I have no problem if the money goes to people affected by the earthquake. The host took the money and didn't say any word. doesn't answer
