Hi!
I had a guest a couple of years ago who probably spotted "the dust" ( or probably a stray hair) in a bedroom. I have never received anything similar about the cleaning. Not before or after that guest. Also, I received many "sparkling clean" compliments.
So, I have a question: will this imaginary "bedroom dust" ever disappear from my profile? Or it is my lifetime achievement?
Best regards
Eugene

@Eugene78 It's your lifetime achievement. But I doubt that many guests bother to read through every review when there are lots, and if any of them decided not to book because of it, you probably wouldn't want them as a guest, anyway.
A friend who hosts had a similar "dust" mention. It disturbed her so much, since she's a meticulous cleaner (she's a nurse, she knows what clean is), that she immediately went into the room after this woman rushed to leave her review to try to find out what dust she was talking about. She finally found a tiny corner of dust in the bedhead bookshelf, literally a half centimeter triangle, where she hadn't worked the cloth all the way in to the corner. All you can do is shake your head.

@Sarah977 haha don't shake your head...it'll dislodge a HAIR ๐ฑ
@Eugene78 Your 'lifetime achievement' is stunning listings and a stellar hosting record. All I see is good stuff. It's human nature to let a tiny little 'negative' take on a life of it's own and grow all out of proportion. Don't let that happen here. I agree with @Sarah977 "if any of them decided not to book because of it, you probably wouldn't want them as a guest, anyway".... that's a win-win for you!

HAHA! No way! I'm wearing bandana! Aways in the apartment
i had a guest complain publicly about how a dog pooped in my driveway. I donโt even HAVE a dog! Smh.
This was after she stayed four hours after checkout. โLook at what your pug did?โ, excuse me maaโm i donโt have a pug.
If she wouldโve left when she was supposed to, the poo incident probably wouldnโt have happened.
Her review will get buried in time.
My co-host with my daughter in Baltimore, and we've had 2 Guest from H**l who left the place extremely filthy - and made very negative remarks about the Apt/or amenitites that were untrue. We responded graciously and truthfully to them in such a way that - perspective host cld read between the line...and in one case we escalated to Airbnb w/photos and moved on.
p.s. we also make it impossible for them to booked with us ever again.
If I got a review like that, I'd probably send the guest a private message "So sorry you were disturbed by a few specks of dust. I thought it petty to mention in my review your toothpaste splatter on the mirror or the one hair I found stuck to the shower wall. "
I had a guest ping me for bread crumbs in the cutlery drawer, which is just below the toaster. Yes there were some crumbs, and I now vacuum it frequently. This same guest rearranged all the containers in the pantry in increasing size and left 8 pages of pocket notepad paper with "suggestions for the cleaner"...
