I struggle to understand the purpose of this new badge.
It could be to highlight the best of the best (rating >4,90), but I already saw it assigned to an evaluation of 4,77!
What does airbnb mean with its creation?

Hi @Fausto106 ! Guest Favorites are a collection of the 2 million most loved homes on Airbnb based on ratings, reviews, and reliability data from over half a billion trips.
Guest Favorites have a history of positive reviews and are rated above 4.9 stars on average. They have a superb record of reliability, with Host cancellations and quality-related customer service issues of 1% on average. And nearly two-thirds of them are hosted by Superhosts today.
For Guest Favorites, Airbnb focuses on the signals that have the loudest guest voice. A mix of factors are considered in determining whether a listing qualifies as a Guest Favorite, including: overall and subcategory ratings, feedback left in guest reviews, Host cancellations, and the number of quality-related customer service issues. All of those combined create a score that will determine whether the listing qualifies as a Guest Favorite.
I also wanted to share this article that gives an overview of the new Guest Favourites: Most-loved homes according to guests badge.
Regarding your concerns mentioning seeing it for other listings regardless of 4.9 ratings, also clarifying that the average rating for all Guest Favorite listings is 4.9. While these listings generally have very high overall ratings, please note some may be above 4.9 and some may be below.
I hope this helps!
You have 4.9 for cleanliness, Ryan, sorry, the algorithm gives that more weight than all the 5.0's for everything else...bad luck. What the heck?! It is so broken.
I am a Guest Favorite & Superhost but it astounds me that this platform would assign "Guest Favorite" to a listing with minimal reviews. It's like stating, "World's Best Coffee" but only 5 customers have rated it. It's relatively easy to obtain a 5 star rating with just a handful of reviews. Airbnb should have also required a minimum # of reviews before granting such a badge.
I agree its absolutly rediculous
@Fausto106 ciao, it's a mere marketing operation. To the million-four hundred thousand Superhost listings, praised by Airbnb as the hosting elite, another six hundred thousand listings are now added (and I won't go into the merits) to show potential customers how much guests love the Airbnb listings. Brilliant!
I read on Reddit that it only applies to properties that have 5 stars overall and 5 stars in cleanliness over their last 5 reviews. You would think if this is the case, Airbnb would put it in their "articles" or that support would be able to explain this. I do not see a filter on the guest search anymore to filter by superhost, just a giant filter button right at the top of the filter page for Guest Favorites and Luxe Properties. Essentially filters out any Superhost that has gotten a 4 (in overall or cleanliness) over their last five reviews, even if you have a 5 star overall rating.
It is an experiment that has devalued superhosts.
You cannot search for superhosts anymore.
The only way to be heard is to call. Speak to a supervisor and then utilize the provided feedback link.
The technical team may take our opinions into consideration during the experiment we are all in.
I am not a fan of this change. In my opinion it has created a confusing hoshposh of listings with different value badges that are unclear to guests.
The lack of transparency with criteria is frightening.
I agree 100%! It's a Beta gone bad.
Local competitor.
This is a local competitor...
Then us...
This is ours...never had guest favourite.
Could you please explain to me @Bhumika? I would appreciate it if you could provide an explanation without linking me to the guest favorite rules or mentioning that the system updates every 24 hours. The reason being, our place has been missed by the algorithm since the beginning, which suggests that the algorithm needs improvement. I would appreciate it if you could take some action and help us out instead of copying and pasting links. Please acknowledge and let me know if you can assist with this.
Another place near ours that even has a 1-star overall review a 2-star overall review and 4.88 but is a guest favourite...what...am...I...missing folks? @Bhumika
@Sara-And-Rob0 I guarantee you will not get a response from any of the moderators or Airbnb explaining this. Transparency is non existent unfortunately.
I've been spinning my wheels hard on this topic and don't seem to be getting anywhere. Also, failing at any attempts at review removals. In reality, I am just going to toss the support number, it just wastes time and nothing changes, hosts are a dime a dozen and our 3% is not the droid they're looking for.
