What do I do if my guest is getting a flag that their reservation is an unauthorized party. I'm guessing it's flagged because guest is 20 years old, said she is coming to town for a friends birthday and plans to shop. I've already pre-approved the booking. What should I do?
I used the Hospitable AI message tool and it suggested I respond....
Airbnb sometimes flags reservations as a precaution to prevent unauthorized parties, especially for short stays. As long as the house rules are followed—no events or large gatherings—you’ll have nothing to worry about. Let me know if you have any other concerns!
Thanks,
Shannon
Guest can't book. Should I tell her to contact Airbnb Support?
Only other option is to have someone else in the group book that is older and doesn't live local. They can try and and book instead.
I would still send the message about no parties...
Thanks Joan. Her mom tried to book but because it's only 1 day and 5 people they won't allow it. Probably better.
@Shannon1151 Decline the booking. Have the Guest cancel it.
We recommend removing the instant booking and have each perspective Guest request a booking. Gives you time to vet them. Never accept any third party booking. A parent making a booking for a sibling,...absolutely no. Have a house rule that states that "the person responsible for the booking must be present during the booked period" If a parent or relative makes a booking for underage individuals, the guests should be removed immediately.
Thanks Greg. This young lady is very persistent and now wants to book on VRBO using her mom's account because I have a 25 age limit. She is 20. I basically just told her I can't do it and blocked the date on VRBO as well. Sigh.
i agree with @Greg2406 ....
Let me clarify...
I would only allow someone else who was already going to stay with the original group try and book. I agree that the person who books must be on property for the entire stay. We also have this in our additional house rules. We don't accept 3rd party bookings.
Got it. Thanks all.
