Hi all,

Looking for some advice. I had a 5.0 star review with about 20 total reviews and recently hosted a guest and her family that stayed 3 nights. They never responded to any of my messages (not completely unusual from my experience) but in the review all they said was the carpet was slippery (I had it put in last year and most people comment how incredibly comfortable it is) and gave it 4.0 stars. No other comments or suggestions. What do you do in this case when it does not seem the review makes a ton of sense especially if you've gone above and beyond (I stocked fridge and set out fruit and flowers as well). Any advice is appreciated!

@Lisa5987 My advice is be happy that you no longer need to chase perfection. We recently went 16 months with all 5* reviews and then got two 4* in a row. There is nothing to be done about it so don't stress over it.

We do try to help people understand the review system by putting the following in our apartment manual

We hope you enjoyed your time with us and will leave a review on Airbnb. The Airbnb system is somewhat strange in that an average of 4.7 stars is ‘the level of performance that’s expected from hosts on Airbnb’.
