Guest Renting Both Units In House - How do I handle It?

Good morning, all!

I have a two unit house.  I typically rent each unit separately.  I have a guest wanting to rent both units.  How do I handle it? 

My thoughts where to add in the charges to one listing and make the second unit unavailable for those dates.  

Is there a better way to handle it?

Hello. 
I would rent out each unit separately. They are getting two separate houses, most likely for two different sets of friends or family members to stay separately. Just thinking about the future, Here’s an example: If there is a leak in one unit, then you would only have to reimburse for that unit. sounds easier to keep them separate.

@Shelley319  You could set up a third unit that represents the entire duplex, and make your existing units children of that unit. That way, you could book the entire duplex as one unit, but if either of the child units books separately, the dates will correctly show as unavailable on the parent unit. Conversely, if someone rents the whole duplex, the dates will correctly show as unavailable on the individual units.

This strategy also works for whole house vs. individual rooms.
