Listing framework not international enough ... ?

Hi everyone, especially outside the USA. We have a couple of problems trying to squeeze the definition of our listing into the framework provided by AirBNB. There are specifically three current problems.

The first is a small matter, but relevant for some guests. The portal asks us: "Tell us more about your TV", then lists a whole load of streaming services and a 'standard cable' option. Out here in the European countryside we instead have a wonderful satellite system that brings in over 300 European news and entertainment channels in multiple languages, which are far more relevant for our guests than watching re-run soaps or time-shifted US sports. I have asked AirBNB to enlarge their TV options multiple times to do justice to this facility, but with no change so far.

The second matter is the 'bathroom', a US term for everything from a room with a bath in it to a toilet. The portal does not support the configuration here which is a toilet and washbasin in one room, and an entirely separate room with a shower. We have all the facilities of a 'full bathroom', but they are split, which has led a couple of guests to question our description. Again, AirBNB have made no improvement to the listing options. What to do?

Thirdly, there is a large room above the apartment that we would like to rent out when a larger group of people want to visit (more than four in the two bedrooms). However, we want this to be an option, not part of the standard rental, and have a correspondingly different price. We suggested a tick box, but that has fallen on deaf ears with only the suggestion to write it into the description text. That however will not be read by everybody and doesn't allow us to offer two diffferent sizes and prices for the same location. Again, what to do?

We'd be grateful for any of your suggestions how to 'break the mould' that doesn't seem to cope with anything other than US standard expectations.

Monika and David.

The bathroom you describe (toilet is in a separate room) is considered by Airbnb as "1,5 bathroom"

For the extra room(s) it means you have to create 2 listings:

1 The appartment + the extra rooms (max. number of guests set to maximum, different price, also consider the use option "fee for extra guest above xx")

2.The apartment only (max. number of guests limited to appartment, different price)

The calenders need to be linked to prevent double bookings:

Hi Emiel,

Thanks for the response. Yes, the bathroom can be considered as "1.5", but then there is no opportunity in the framework to state that there is a separate shower as well. So it would look like we only have a poorly-equipped apartment. See the problem?

Re. additional room: it would be SO much easier if we could have a tick-box option of an additional room. This could be automatically activated if more than 4 guests are booked. I think it's going to be confusing for people finding two almost identical listings for the same property ... and I'm probably not the only host who has this 'problem' of optional additional space.
