Early arrival of guests

My guests have just arrived a day early. Looks like a genuine mistake. They have traveled 4 hours to get here. They have left very upset for making the mistake. 
they can’t make the reservation for tomorrow, should I give them a refund. It does mean that I lose out as I can’t get a booking now for tomorrow.

I'd say no, @Trudy107, and I'd suspect - assuming they're decent/rational people - they wouldn't expect a refund either.

 I suppose you could offer to refund the cleaning costs you save as a goodwill gesture.
