Happy Earth Day 2024 everyone!!

Amazing to see the initiatives posted by all the other members for Earth Day!

Last Sunday, April 21st, at Jardim do Torel, in Lisbon/Portugal, we celebrated Earth Day with a memorable event organized by our Lisbon and Vale do Tejo Airbnb hosts club.

Over 50 participants, including 20 children, the youngest being just three years old, gathered in a spirit of joy and commitment to our planet.

At 9 AM, we began setting the scene for a day dedicated to environmental awareness, with a very special guest, "Sherlock Homes."

By noon, after a warm welcome to all, we distributed magnifying glasses, mustaches, maps, and litter collection equipment, and organized the participants into four teams, each with its color. We then embarked on a treasure hunt through the corners of Jardim do Torel, where clues led each team to safes containing hidden messages, decipherable only through collaboration among all, thus promoting unity and teamwork.

This adventure not only provided an effective cleanup of the garden but also culminated in the discovery of a manifesto on essential sustainable practices for hosts.

The event continued with a delicious picnic provided by The BREAKFAST Box, specialists in preparing meals for tourist accommodations. With a menu that transcended the typical breakfast, they ensured a picnic that delighted all attendees. LOOPA, known for its ecological awareness in cleaning and laundry services for tourist accommodations, also played a crucial role in the success of this day.

They contributed not only to organizing this challenge but also to promoting our environmental message. They brought characters like Sherlock Homes and the Seer Zureia, who guided participants in discovering our sustainable manifesto, and offered custom t-shirts with the logo of our group and our supporters to all participants. At the end of the day, we left Jardim do Torel without a trace of litter, taking home hearts full of joy and a sense of duty fulfilled.

Each participant also received a certificate in recognition of their contribution to cleaning the space, along with various souvenirs that will serve as a reminder of this special day.

We express our profound gratitude to all the hosts who accepted our invitation and contributed to cleaning Jardim do Torel, and to our partners in this adventure, LOOPA and The BREAKFAST Box, whose support and dedication made this event unforgettable.
