Guest requests to shorten Airbnb stay on the same day when it's booked

Hello,

Due to my careless, I didn't read the description very well. There is no elevator for the apartment and it definitely not possible to climb to 6th floor for who needs a knee medical treatment. The reservation is originally for 8 nights and not refundable.  I have to reduce my stay to two nights. I requested the change on the same day when I booked it (basically in 30 minutes).  It is possible to do so?  Will the owner decline it? It's a not cheap booking, otherwise I will loose all the money.

@Amanda-R0  How far in advance have you booked? It's possible that you're still within the brief grace period for free cancellations. Otherwise, it's at the host's discretion whether to approve or decline the date change.
