@Bob958  You mean the host didn't respond for 5 hours? I don't think you understand what an Airbnb is. Hosts have 24 hours to respond to a guest message or booking request, although most do it much quicker. Many hosts have regular jobs and can't just be dealing with Airbnb messages at any moment.

Just because you waited until the day you needed somewhere to stay to try to make a booking, doesn't mean you can expect an immediate response.

@Bob958 Airbnb is not designed around last-minute bookings. Hosts tend to be people with jobs and lives outside of hosting, very much unlike hotels with 24 hour desk service.

The best way to use this platform is to plan your trip in advance. When you need accom same-day, hotels and hostels are better equipped for your needs.
