Declining a potential guest

I list a very small room with a sofa bed titled "Brockenhurst on a budget" as suitable for two adults.  Two hours ago, a potential guest rather than asking first whether the room could also accomodate his infant daughter, he booked for 48hrs from now and I have a moderate cancellation policy.  I declined within 15 min the room being too small.  He has just texted to say payment has been taken from his credit card.  What should/can I do?

Hello @Kathryn33,

Welcome to the Community Center!

I think that in this situation, I'd be best to advise your guest to contact Airbnb since only Airbnb has control over the funds at this point.

Let me know how that goes.

@Kathryn33

your post is from 3 days ago so you probably resolved this issue. But....as I see you don't have an instant booking turned on , so how could your guest book without your approval?

If he booked then you didn't decline but cancel the reservation.

If he just sent you a request or inquiry which you declined then his credit card shouldn't be debited.
