How to download your own photos? :-D

Hi there,

Does anyone know how to download the high resolution versions of the photos you included on your own listing?

The original photos that I uploaded are on my old computer (not currently accessible), so I'd like to download them from my airbnb listing.

I've only been able to save low resolution versions through the 'edit my listing' function.

Thanks!

It's possible, but a little tricky and messy.

One thing you could pursue: AirBnB has a program where they'll send a professional photographer over, free of charge. (This for established host who've hosted more than X guests).  But this results in terrific pictures that are much better than I could ever take myself.   So that would take care of having nice pictures uploaded for your listing.

But to get to better versions of existing pictures, click to show the picture in your gallery.   Then right click and select "View Page Source" in your browser and then do a text search (Control-F) for 'original.jpg'.  That will find a whole lot of picture links, and one fo them will be to the big size image.   It'll look something like this: https://a2.muscache.com/im/pictures/106293982/9d6fd3f3_original.jpg

Wow-i tried that but my search brought up 372 results!!!!Is there an easier way? Can I write in to airbnb and ask?

Hi Melacia,

check out my reply to Jiw 😉

Have a great weekend!

Hi Jiw and thanks a lot for the work-around!

Unfortunately I can´t find it under the given search term. Does anyone else tried to find it with success?

Thanks!

A

Update: worked but mine were under https://a2.muscache.com/im/pictures/0846032d-1d0c-4ca0-8e42-9be5be82dc4a.jpg?aki_policy=xx_large

Original only showed profile picture.

Also note that I came across a small version and a large one

https://a2.muscache.com/im/pictures/0846032d-1d0c-4ca0-8e42-9be5be82dc4a.jpg?aki_policy=xx_large

vs

https://a2.muscache.com/im/pictures/0846032d-1d0c-4ca0-8e42-9be5be82dc4a.jpg?aki_policy=large

Last but not least, I found several photos under one link, not all but when I hunt for "https://a2.muscache.com/im/pictures/" and click all the links (they are different from the rest with a thicker dark blue in colour), then I end up with several pictures from the gallery.

I found a large one, which is the largest one I believe except the original image: https://a2.muscache.com/im/pictures/0846032d-1d0c-4ca0-8e42-9be5be82dc4a.jpg?aki_policy=3x_large

works great! thanks for the tip

This one is the best so far! Thank you!

After some playing around, I figured out how to download the FULL SIZE photos.

I also posted this as a normal reply but it is already on page 2 - I added it here also for better visibility.

Go to your listing and to your photo editing area.

When all of your photos are layed out in an array (where you can modify the text for each photo), click on any photo and it will open as a pop up.

Right click on the photo and click, "open image in new tab."

When the image opens, it will have a LONG URL:

https://a0.muscache.com/ac/pictures/22d6090909-xyxyxyxyxyxyxyxyxyxyxd6df.jpg?interpolation=lanczos-n...

This is a 70% size of your original pic.

Now, just go up to your URL bar and modify the 70 to 100 (%):

https://a0.muscache.com/ac/pictures/22d6090909-xyxyxyxyxyxyxyxyxyxyxd6df.jpg?interpolation=lanczos-none&size=large_cover&output-format=jpg&output-quality=100

Now, you can right click and save photo and you'll have a ~ 350 kb photo.

When you compare this pic to those saved from the public page, it is like night and day!

Ciao @Amanda0@Lud-and-Walson0@Melecia0 and @Jiw0

I say forget about using Chrome and only use Mozilla Firefox. Once you see the images from the listing as a normal guest right click with your mouse and click view Image in Background and click on Save image as.

And that's it. In this way you get the images in their original size without scraping the code. I hope Airbnb does not make it harder than already is to get our photos even if with their photographer and logo on it. I mean they are still making money on us and it should not be soo difficult to get some images for our listing.

Many thanks for your answers.

Totally works! Thanks!!!

Unfortunately, this only gives you an 80kb photo that is low res.

Easy way (you can do it from the photos section in your listing mangement and elsewhere):

- Click on the photo you would like to get the high res

- Right click "Open image in new tab"

- Turnacate the end of the URL:

  - FROM: https://a2.muscache.com/ac/pictures/SOMERANDOMBUMBER.jpg?interpolation=lanczos-none&size=large_cover...

  - TO: https://a2.muscache.com/ac/pictures/SOMERANDOMBUMBER.jpg

Hope this helps!

Hacked it for good!!

Open your picture, right click, copy image, paste it on paint, save it as .png

Voilá!

thanks so much!it worked great!
