What happens when your guests robs you and you suspect that they're using fake identities

My last guests robbed thousands of dollars of items, cash (broke into the coin laundry) distroyed my stuff. They ordered $610 of porn on pay-per-view (I know I should have locked the box). They took my mail and I found mail with different people's names in the apt. Based on the way they broke into the washer coin box, the repair guys thinks they're professionals. So based on all this, I think that they are going around doing this to people all over Toronto. Likely using different identities to set up accounts, paying with stolen credit cards and stealing and distroying.

I've filed a police report but got the distinct feeling like the police wasn't interested. And after a week, I have yet to be assigned to  an airbnb case manager. I feel violated and angry. They are probably doing the same to someone else as we speak.  I just wish there was something I could do to warn people. I've read about homes being distroyed but just never thought it would happen to me.

Any advice? Have anyone had a similar experience?

@Von0

Wow this guest stayed with Toronro host Diego in December, prior to staying with you.

Shocker of a review response - did you not see it before accepting?

She instant booked. And I did read the review. And yes, it was super rude and should have been a red flag as no experience is so bad to get that kind of response. BUT, I guess I made excuses....after all, who wouldn't be upset for bedbugs etc.

Lesson learned for sure. And hence the reason for such a detailed review ....as apposed to Diego's vague one. No one will fall into my trap. Although I don't think that she'll use this profile again. I'm sure she's moved onto a new profile. Not sure how someone like that can be stopped.

Shows Toronto as her location and only books in Toronta and describes herslef as a professional....

David

She actually had a believable cover story. It's not my first time renting to Torontonians for one reason or another...

But I have decided to change that....unless they can prove they're my neighbour who's getting their floors done...haha.

Hi i am from Guadalajara Mexico last weekend happen the same to me it seems that someone that knows how to do the same thing is starting over here i got an instant book member since 2 months ago and stayed for 3 nights they looked not so bad very educated on the phone calls but on the second night neighboors start complaining in regards the noise they were making, so i thought i should go and visit them, i arrived to my house and obviously they were having a party the last day of the stay i went to the house around 8 or 9 pm everything look just fine i ask them to call me the next day for checkout and in the morning i call them to ask what time they were leaving, the phone rang and it was disconected like if they cancel the phone i arrive to the house and they took tvs play station microwave dishes quilts and furniture my question is do you think it would be possible to have a nest camera to be able to check if they are not taking anything or that is invading their privacy we need to do something because it seems that this is just starting when i called the police they ask for ids of the people that rent my home and the lease for the house i wasnt able to get anything from the platform so the police didnt want to make a report without me pointing at the suspects. PLEASE ADVICE ME WHAT TO DO I WILL REALLY APRECIATE IT A LOT THANKS VERY MUCH
