Airbnb’s in Blue River Colorado

Hi Everyone,

Does anyone in this community have a property in Blue River, Colorado? I’m having a great deal of difficulty with the lodging/sales tax (3.4%) which I pay Blue River. Airbnb is collecting that 3.4% on top of the 8.87% they send to the state for distribution. They are wrongly sending it to Breckenridge because it’s the same jurisdiction code. But they don’t have an agreement to send it directly to Blue River. So I end up pay 15.675% tax on all my stays. It’s just too much! I want Airbnb to just collect the 8.8% and I’ll continue paying Blue River. I can never get a real person who has any authority at Airbnb. There are over 150 short term rentals in Blue River 80% of which use Airbnb and Vrbo. I may have to spread the word that the taxes are not being done correctly. Has anyone had any luck getting through to Airbnb on this issue?
