Delayed PayPal payments?

Delayed PayPal payments?

I should have received s payment from air bnb today via PayPal. It normally gets paidby 3.30pm the day after the reservation starts. It didn't. Is now early hours of the next day and is e still in future payments. Not paid.

 

I know people have had trouble with bank payments but has anyone had issues with PayPal payments? I don't know what's going on!

Experiencing the same here. All past payments have been in PayPal by the day following check-in, but now 48hrs after check-in nothing showing. Gonna give til tomorrow then submit a ticket -  is a bit concerning as not happened before now.

Me too, payment for 2x hostings should have been released yesterday, but the bar chart has not turned from light blue to dark blue! - Amongst other signs! My payments do NOT come via Paypal, as far as I know, they go straight to my bank account.. (I don't understand these things.) - It's the first time this has ever happened, & I've been a host since Feb 2017 - over 3 years. @Wendy684 @Richard299 

@Helen350 I mentioned it was via PayPal because I know some hosts have had payment delays via direct bank payment. I've seen it as one major advantage to PayPal. until now. 

@Helen350  Your payments only go to Paypal if that's the method you chose to be paid on your hosting account. If you are receiving your payments into your bank account, then they don't go "via" Paypal. Paypal isn't something Airbnb uses to transfer payments, like Worldpay or Payoneer, it's an end destination, a private account the user has, like a bank account.

@Sarah977 Yes, I know that! (Having revisited my account set up page!) - Thanks anyway! - Doesn't alter the fact that Airbnb has FAILED to release payment to my bank account this week for 2x Monday arrivals (1 person,1 day, & 1 person 4 days). Guests arrived Monday, & it is now almost Thursday here in the UK, payment is 30 hours late so far! Will I ever get it? I'm fearful. 3x new arrivals in the next few days,,, Just as bookings have picked up, where's the 'payout'? - as Airbnb call it.

I'm going to phone them today as I'm actually broke and need the money. I'm really annoyed.

@Wendy684 You & me both! I can't afford to phone them, I pay for my calls! - I messaged them, which I know is not effective....

EUREKA! & HALLELUJAH! - My payment appears to have gone through! (No reply to my message to CS... who knows? - Will now ask them NOT to phone in the middle of the night, as per usual....) @Wendy684

@Helen350 had the same situation- it’s the first time this has happened in over 3 years and also PayPal but I monitor this! I hope it’s just an admin issue. Good luck to you. 🙂

@Helen350 I'm very glad to hear you've had your payment. I haven't and I've had the usual unhelpful response from Airbnb.

first person said - oh it can take up to 48-72 hrs so I cant escalate it until then. no that's wrong. that's for bank payments not PayPal. PayPal is 1 working day. they eventually said they would get a supervisor to call me back. I'm still waiting. its now 6pm.

next person didn't want to talk at all just wanted to escalate to specialists to investigate. acknowledged I was correct but was not very communicative.

Supervisor did not call. they sent me a message asking how they could help! D'oh talk about silly. 

So I phoned a 3rd time. Spoke to case manager number 3. he also requested a call back. I pointed out it was now 6 hours since the supervisee was asked to call. call not message. I asked what happened to the specialist escalation and he said that had been done but may take up to 48hrs for them to come back. 

 

So 6pm 2 days after check in I still have not been paid. 

 

it is very tempting to emblazon across the top of my listing the Airbnb owes me $212 in guest money - please book via xxxx xxxx

the supervisor never called. 

 

I have no clue what is going on but none of the 3 people I spoke to were even remotely helpful and I am currently out of pocket $212  which I need for basic expenses. I'm living off my credit card right now. It is 9pm here 9 hrs after a call back was requested and none has been made.

 

@Lizzie @Stephanie I know there have been payment issues before are either of you able to help find out what is going on?

@Stephanie hi yes the stay is for 7 nights. The payment came through last night to PayPal. 

 

Unfortunately I won't get the money into my bank until Monday now so am living off my credit card until then. I am so mad. 

 

The misinformation and atrocious customer service from air bnb yesterday while trying to sort this out has been awful. It is clear staff don't know anything and are prepared to lie to cover up ineptitude. 

 

So jaded from latest contact that I just want to quit and have nothing more to do with them. I don't trust air bnb to even speak the truth. Let alone act with competency.

Money has finally been paid. Just received a message at 10.35pm that payment been made. no explanation as to why so late. unfortunatelyndue to the delay it is now too late for me to withdraw the money from PayPal  to my bank this week.
