Local Taxes

Hi,

I am wondering where I find proof my local taxes were paid. Under the taxes tab, I get this message "Your listing is in Wisconsin State where Airbnb may collect and remit occupancy taxes, if required, from guests on your behalf". But I have not received any confirmation either from Airbnb, the state, or local municipality that the taxes were paid. I don't know if I need to report them with a tax filing.

@Josh-And-Kathy0 you need to talk to your state/town. In most cases Airbnb seems to have agreed to just remit a lump sum to the state without any breakdown of where it has come from. When you look at your listing as a guest do these taxes show up? If not then you will definitely be on the hook for them. 

In New Jersey many hosts seem to be paying the state as well as Airbnb collecting the taxes which is just ridiculous.
