I've read several posts about sales tax and read through whatever AirBNB has to offer, but still don't understand. Located in North Carolina, AirBNB states that they remit taxes on behalf of me. But then why does my payout include the sales tax, and is labeled as "pass through"?
I receive the reservation fee as one pay out, and then the sales tax as a second payout.
Yes
@Joe2862 You don't need to do that if Airbnb is collecting and remitting for you. Right now your guests are paying around 14% in tax. Does that sound like double of what they should be charged?
Yes, as a matter of fact it is about double. No idea what occupancy tax rate is, but sales tax is 6.75%.
