State and County Sales Tax and Cccupancy taxes in Colorado

Recently our town (Leadville, CO) enacted an Lodging Tax on STRs.  We have added that to our listings and have to remit the tax to the city ourselves (no problem).  The city has told us that we no longer need to collect and remit the Lake County Sales Tax.

The problem is removing the County Sales Tax.  There is no option (that we've found) to do so.  After many, many, many messages with AirBNB support the only suggested "solution" was to remove the Lodging Tax  as to not over charge our guests (because of course the County Tax is automatically charged and remitted).

First, the County Tax Rate and the Lodging Tax Rate are different. Second, even if they were the same the County Tax is automatically remitted, so the city wouldn't be getting and money.

Does anyone know how we can "customize" the tax options to properly collect and remitted the required taxes?

Thanks in advanced.

Cindy

@Cindy-and-Diane0   The only option regarding taxes through the website is the ability to add a tax that Airbnb has not contracted with your municipality to collect.  Airbnb’s agreements with municipalities are general and of a wide scope and do not address changes made by local jurisdictions as your town has made.  Until your municipality addresses the change with Airbnb, Airbnb will continue to collect the tax that has been rescinded and will ignore the tax that has been added.  You can do nothing except add the new tax that you are required to collect so that you are in compliance with the law.  You could send a letter to the county and Airbnb (address unknown) advising them that Airbnb is charging your guests for a tax that the guest is legally no longer required to pay, but it may fall on deaf ears.
