Web site solicitation

Just curious if anyone has been solicited via telephone and email to contract for a website that interfaces with the STR platforms?  The costs are so inexpensive that I question the validity.  They want 50% down, or $750 upfront, for a fully functional website.  I investigated a bit and found that websites are not a great source of generating business and in fact may not ever recover the initial investment and annual maintenance fees.  Any experiences that can be shared here?  Hosts, Carl & Vicki

@Carl-and-Vicki0   This is very familiar tactic to take your hard earned dollars out of your pocket.  I receive emails almost daily from companies that troll the OTAs and want to create a personal website for me, promising good google results and lots of views.  I also get phone calls from accented english speakers who want to list my property on their site or provide me with third party guests from their travel company.   DELETE the emails and HANG UP the phone.
