Host not following refund policy

We reserved three nights and then cancelled all but one. According to the strict cancellation policy, we should receive a 50% refund. But our host is saying, first, that there is a two-night minimum then a three-day minimum and effectively should receive no refund. His listing says "1 night minimum stay". I assume that Airbnb will work this out but why would our host be antagonizing us and encouraging us to leave a bad review? Possibly he is just hoping we cancel the whole stay? Anything I can do to make sure we receive the proper refund and also smooth things over with our host

AirBnB refund when you cancel so nothing to do with the Host, conditions that apply will be on your Booking confirmation.
