I have just joined abnb as a host, I know this sounds dumb, but do you need to download the abnb app?

Welcome @Raewyne0 , I would suggest you have it at least on your phone as the site can be very clunky with a tiny screen.  Good luck and stay well.  JR

@Raewyne0 The app is useful for getting alerts (and answering inquiries) when you are out.

While I am here I am wondering if you should add a checkout time to your listing - Technically someone could stay all day as it stands!

@Raewyne0   Welcome to AirBNB.   I don't have the app yet because I prefer using my laptop. It works fine.

Hi Anthony, How do you login in to edit listing?

@Raewyne0 I suggest you read the Airbnb help pages before you go live with your listing. There are myriad articles to learn from. Having a solid knowledge of how things work is quite important.

@Raewyne0   I have been hosting for many years on several different platforms.  I use my desktop or laptop, and do NOT use the app.  I edit my listing on the desktop.  I receive text alerts on my phone.

Answer:  No, the App is not necessary to host.  It is a convenience for some, and a hinderance to others.
