Missing Payouts!

Missing Payouts!

I have been waiting to receive my payouts since December 25th, 2022, it is now January 12th! It is now over $11,000 in payouts and I’ve been messaging and calling AirBnB every single day and nobody can explain what the problem is. The only thing I’m being told is that the matter has been escalated to their “specialised team”. There is no indication as to when I will receive my payouts nor what the problem is. This is not good enough! AirBnB needs to do better. The least they can do is have someone contact me to explain what the issue is and how they’re working to resolve it. I need a resolution!

Any positive updates

@Mia1190?
Do you know others in Södertälje and Sweden who have also not been advised of there Payments been Paused or other?

Don't you think it's kind of odd that sooooo many hosts have lately posted here about non-payment issues?

Something is going on...

This is not one or two or three cases every week. We are seeing the CC inundated with hosts who are simply not getting paid, sometimes to the tune of tens of thousands, or even more. This is becoming a trend.

Can we please have some answers as to why this is happening so frequently?

Hi @Huma0, thanks for the tag! Though we have seen a slight increase, we have not seen a significant rise. We also read every post on the CC, and help wherever we can when members are experiencing said issues.

Thanks for the update, but in a way, that's even more worrying, i.e. if it's been going on at this level for an extended period of time.

I know that you and the other moderators try to step in and help when you can, but there needs to be some sort of systematic change at Airbnb CS, where they don't leave hosts hanging for extended periods of time chasing their hard earned money.

Is it possible to see some numbers RE this? The thing is, as much as I have always seen posts on the CC from hosts missing payouts, I have never seen anywhere near as many as in the past few months. And certainly, not so many from hosts missing $several thousands, even $tens of thousands.

And I am not the only one. Many other people are commenting on this and it is all over social media. I don't think that can be a coincidence...

It should be fairly easy to calculate the sum of monies outstanding from those who have provided figures in here using keywords like Paused Payments. KYC and AML related terms

Yes, but I bet that is just the tip of the iceberg...

Exactly @Huma0

The very ones who open their homes as Homeshare in places that don't have good internet access, including those who have to travel in excess of 20 km to get their emails and messages accessed or those off the Grid and there's plenty of those listings on the Platform.

Ditto those who are not on here.

@Peter-Che0 @Emmanuel10 @Huma0  @Fred13 @Sudsrung0 and others, we have had a scan of Arise Virtual Solutions job offers in Customer Support and it appears they have quite a selection of places there contracted Agents do work for, ranging from Roadside Repairs to Airbnb support.

Quite different fields of expertise one would think, do you agree?

The one size blanket fits all approach to Know Your Customer (KYC) and AML regulations is quite unbelievable.

Perhaps all Airbnb Hosts who have not been paid should be making complaints to Scott Etheridge who is the CEO of Arise Virtual Solutions about the level of competency / incompetence and Hosts having their Payments/ Monies from Guests withheld based on Tick the Boxes  Template without using Lateral Thinking and Logic as the service and approach is unacceptable.

I've had Customer Support people tell me I'm 'Depriving them' and that I must provide a Passport, Drivers Licence or National ID card and get one because otherwise I won't be paid, suggestions to provide a copy of my Utility Bill and shockingly the most recent is an offer to reimburse me for the cost of a New Passport upon provision of receipts which sits very uncomfortably with me.

None of us know who is accessing our Private Information, who is using their own personal Devices and cross over with Work From Home/ Remotely Devices which increases Risk Factors involved of our Personal Information landing in the wrong hands..

There have been far too many Data Protection / Privacy Breaches as it is.

We are Hosts, not someone who is living in USA needing a Car Repair Service or TV Channel account.

Well, that is all very worrying. Any security checks on hosts should be done before they list and start taking bookings, not after! Funny how Airbnb is suddenly concerned about these things once they have already got the payout from the guest.

I am sorry, but I don't buy it for an instant. These are stalling tactics to hang on to hosts' money for as long as they can.

@Huma0 @Helen427

Im not going to mention any names but I have seen $100k being owed to one host quite how it got to that stage Im not sure of all the details just yet,

I will keep you informed,

Yep, that's pretty crazy when someone is owed those kinds of amounts (although even $1K can be very upsetting if you are relying on that income).

I also don't know how it can get to that stage and how Airbnb can justify it?

@Sudsrung0

There is also a trail of names, well first names, in those communications, one has to question if there's a pattern where staff training is lacking, support that Customer Services should be receiving because there's serious failures to adhere to Rule of Law and our Jurisdictions.

Of grave concern is the Copy and Paste pattern of links and the leading in the direction of 'ChatBots' which have been called into question how they don't work.

Equally as concerning is checks on Guests and seeking Hosts input prior to suspensions and 'Payout actions" to ensure a balanced perspective of any issues that may or may not need addressing prior to any action against Hosts. or for that matter Guests.
