And so the FREE stays begin...

Guest only needs one night but books two nights and stays the first night. Next day he/she calls Airbnb and complains about something- cleanliness, face mask, sanitation, host was less than 6 feet away from them, whatever. In reality it does not matter what the complaint is because Airbnb has promised a full refund to the guest in the event a host does not follow the protocol that Airbnb has mandated upon hosts and we all know that Airbnb sides with guests when it is a "he said/he said" situation. Guest stayed for free, host loses money. Thank you Airbnb.

"All hosts and guests are required to follow the COVID-19 safety practices outlined above, as applicable. If you're a guest, you will not be eligible for a refund if your host cancels your reservation because you did not comply with these practices. Similarly, if you're a host, you will not be eligible for a payout if a guest cancels their stay because you did not comply with these practices."

Well it does matter actually @Tim-and-Holly0

You could have challenged Airbnb and asked them what proof they have of whatever the guest alleged.

Hopefully you have left an honest review of this guest to warn other hosts.

@Tim-and-Holly0 this exact loophole is one reason some hosts have cited as NOT agreeing to "The 5 Steps". I'll be looking forward to seeing what the website looks like tomorrow.... I for one have not clicked the "agree" button.

And anyone who thinks that ABB only makes decisions that they have "proof" of has not been paying attention
