Formerly a heavy Airbnb user and now I'm gone because of Plaid

I have to give Plaid access to my ban account balance and transactions in order to continue spending $12k a year on Airbnb.  uh NO!.  Most of the same properties are on VRBO now so I'm gone.   The brilliant executive that infected Airbnb with Plaid needs to be fired immediately.

Kind of a workaround but I believe you can also use paypal to pay for it.

Paypal did not work for me but booking via phone without selling your financial soul to Plaid does work

Never heard of Plaid .what is it ? Why do you have to give it access to your Airbnb account @Craig922

Though Airbnb uses two factor authentication when booking via desktop, it now also requires divulging bank balances and transactions to Plaid.   This horrific invasive request is likely illegal in the UK and EU.
