How do I see the reviews of a potential guest?

Someone is asking about my space. It says Airbnb since 2015. How do I see reviews of this potential guest?

I too found this so confusing. On the app, when the guest sends a request to book, you will have a message from them. Open the message. At the top of the message There is a link to your listing and right next to the link, is a very squished red vertical oblong thing.  Click that.  It will not show you their picture, but it shows their reviews and profile and how long they have been a member.  On the website, it's much easier and more clear as when you open their message or pending request, their info is just to the right of their message once you open it.  Hope that helps.  It took me a looooong time to figure that out on the app. Being a single mom who is renting a room in my home I always check reviews before allowing anyone to book with us. Knowing how to find this has been invaluable. Hope this helps!

@Donna320  Just click on the circle with the letter in it to the left of the message with a guest when they request to book or send an Inquiry.. That will take you to their profile and if they have written anything about themselves or have any reviews, they will be there. It's unbelievable that Airbnb couldn't manage to give you an answer on this, it's so straightforward.

It used to be just to click on the photos but annoyingly I have just discovered that airbnb took that possibility away unless you do instant booking. I don't want that! I want to see reviews first. They just want to minimise cancelations from hosts. We should all complain about it!! Guy who asked to book today has 7 reviews!

I still see reveiws but I don't see Star Ratings as they are available with Instant Booking which I don't use.

That is not true. Airbnb did not take away the ability to read reviews.

The only thing they did related to Instant Booking was *add* the ability to see a guest's star ratings.

Anyone can read the reviews of a potential guest.

That is pretty useless, only see the stars if they can instant book. It is then too late as they have already booked!

I have never had Instant Booking turned on for my space, and have always looked at reviews about the potential guest from other hosts before accepting a reservation. Today I suddenly found that I can't and it's unclear whether it's because there are zero reviews for the profile or if I'm unable to see it. If it's the former, maybe a '0 reviews' would be a good clarification?

If it's the latter, it might be a dealbreaker for me, since this is my home 95% of the time and I rent it out when I travel, or sometimes I travel if it gets rented out. I'm not about to open up my home to anyone and everyone without the chance to vet whether or not they will leave my home in good condition.

@Shane148  I don't know why you can't see them- they are definitely available to view, they haven't been "taken away". I just had a Booking Request yesterday, and was able to see all the guest's past reviews.

But HOW?  I can see reviews for the guest, but I would like to see reviews LEFT by the guest for other hosts.  How do I find those, please?

Seeing reviews written by the guest is an entirely different question.

There are 2 ways to see the reviews written by the guest.

The easy way is to get the AirReview. This browser extension will automatically show you the reviews written by guests (if they wrote one).

The harder (manual) way is this:

1. Go to the guest's profile page.
2. For each and every review that the guest has from a host, click on the host's image
3. On each hosts' profile, scroll through the list and find the review written by that specific guest.
4. After doing this about 10 times, realize you should just install AirReview.

Me too.  I have been doing this for three years now and suddenly I can't find any reviews for potential guests. One woman has been a member since March of 2016.  Not one review. I have wasted several hours with the "help" desk.  They still think I want to find reviews about MYSELF!  Very frustrating.   I guess I won't book any body until it is fixed.

Hi Jeanne, me too, I have been hosting for 4 years now and have no idea how to read a potential guests reviews in case it's a bad one. When I ask Airbnb it comes back how to put my review in about guests stay but I already know that, I just want to know how to read a potential 

guests review because it helps to block out the bad ones.

Hi Jeanne,

They may have become members in 2016 but that doesn't necessarily mean they have traveled with airbnb. Therefore this would explain the lack of any reveiws from there hosts. It has happened to me  occasionnally.
