I read conversation threats that hosts request $500+ for various damages, including stained sheets, broken stuff, etc.
The 37-year-old car of my last guest stained my driveway with large oil stains. I started a reimbursement request with clear progression pictures of the damage made by the guest. I hired a power washing company to remove them but they could not. I had to fight to get the amount I paid for the power washing $216 (as Airbnb only offered $180 at first, can't you believe it?! I showed my invoice and they dared to offer me less). I also requested compensation for irreparable damage and did not get anything. I was also mistreated by the Airbnb representative that was assigned to my case.
How are these other hosts getting/requesting reimbursement and I am struggling to get the amount I paid for trying to repair the damages? What am I doing wrong?
