Sofa-bed vs. Futon
We have successfully hosted with a sofa-bed for several years now, but I'm feeling it's time for an upgrade. In my research I am finding a lot of modern sofa's that convert to a futon instead. Futon is not an option on Airbnb, that I can find. I am just wondering if people have had experience with the difference and if sofa's that convert to a futon are acceptable accommodations? Also, if you have a sofa-bed that you love, I would be interested to know the brand. Thanks!

The fact that your guests will sleep on a futon (and not on a usual mattress) I would describe clearly in your listing.
While in Japan (and Korea) sleeping on a futon is usual for locals, it might be unexpected for western travelers. Avoid a negative surprise and guest experience by clear communication.
You could try to find a positive way: “futon sleeping experience” – which might attract especially those guests who like it. Add a nice picture to your photo gallery.
