Our site did and we already got a string of visitors asking this morning via Airbnb (if they written before) or via direct wanting to know what is going on.
My goodness, how could Airbnb lack such basic business wisdom to this day to always add in parallel, never replace in case things do not work out at first as hoped. This is basic programming rule #101.
@Fred13 Oh, you mean the ancient practice of providing “backwards compatibility”? That is an obsolete practice, I’m afraid. Nowadays, it’s “change and publish”, and let the users be the testers/guinea pigs.
And, to be clear, this isn’t just Airbnb!😏
Do it, publish it and pray for low damage. 🙂
Jesus prays, Buddha makes back up 🙂
Do you know how many times I’ve had to deal with the following:
”I did the upgrade, and now my customer database has no entries in it. Everything is totally gone”.
”Did you make a backup, like the instructions said?”
”Nah, I ignored that part.”…😳
Fred your dilemma simply reinforces what I said to @Elaine701 yesterday about my listing suddenly showing up with 'no reviews yet' and a mysterious sum of money that ended up in my account through Airbnb back in May. This was in response to her post about a guest of hers who is part of Airbnb....but isn't!
Changes to the programming seem to be coming at such a rate that even the bots can't keep on top of unwanted side effects.
@Pat271 It is universally known as 'Cause and Effect' and every company uses it when designing program alterations......well, almost every company.
It looks like Airbnb are trying to take a shortcut!
Anyway @Fred13 , note time in bottom right corner of screenshot, the bots have caught up, you are live again, take a Bex and have a good lie down!
Cheers........Rob
@Robin4 Mysterious sums of money showing up in your account? I like that defect!
Aye @Robin4 have you ever seen something this wild? I wasn't too upset, since we will fill anyway; but goodness now I can really appreciate how so many feel to have their place poof and suddenly zero income with it. That is very scary.
Oh Fred, don't you know Airbnb have our back covered!
Here in Australia our national postal service is called, Australia Post. Every large company has a slogan, a promo line. Can you imagine what Australia Posts is?
......'We Deliver'
Cheers.......Rob
Hi @Fred13,
I'm so sorry to hear about this, is everything ok now?
I can try and find out what happened, if you wouldn't mind giving me a bit more detail. Did your listing just disappear completely and did it remove all your bookings?
Any detail you can give would be really helpful.
Jenny
I'm really glad to hear that, @Fred13.
Do let us know if it happens again and we can report it as a bug if needed.
Jenny
