Cleaning during guest stay

Hello there,

I’m a new host and I’m wondering if anyone else provides cleaning services during their guest stays? For short tem bookings we’ve been offering 1x housekeeping and for longer ones 1x per week housekeeping because the pool also needs to be serviced. In addition how often are clean towels provided during a stay?

You would not normally provide cleaning services unless for longer stays . You can cost in weekly or for nightly cleans.

towels /linens are something guests normally wash during longer stays so provide two sets @Catarina188

thanks for your prompt response. I feel that guests expect regular cleaning services. But I’ve always thought that Airbnb wasn’t meant to feel like a hotel stay but more like a home where guests to all the organising and cleaning during their stay. I think I need to be more assertive during check in times and clarify this aspect.

@Catarina188 Hello! It's exciting when you are starting your Airbnb and I hope it goes well for you. Normally, one doesn't provide housekeeping during any stay unless they are longer term. Provide enough towels for each person plus a couple of extras, and that should last them for their stay. They just hang the towels to dry after showering and reuse them the next day. It would be a lot of increase to the cost of running a rental to provide new towels every day. For longer than a week or so, then you can either let them wash the towels with their own laundry if you offer use of your machines, or swap them out for clean ones and you wash them. I would also change the bedding at that time. But they should be keeping the rental relatively clean and you should not need to actually clean anything. I also think most people really don't want the intrusion while they are there. They will clean up to a degree when they leave based on your check out instructions. Best of luck!

@Catarina188 We don't provide cleaning in between reservations. Our maximum stay duration is 25 days.

Upon request, we will provide change of towels/bedding, but that's it. 

It's better to err in the side of caution, and avoid triggering Airbnb's safety team.
