Frozen Lock Box?

It's that time of year!

IMG_3571.JPGThis was after a Cityami guest checkout (luckily we have a defrost procedure when guests don't use the winter key encasement). If you're using a lock box, make sure this doesn't happen to you! We keep our keys protected within the box, so guests can retrieve them even if the box itself and everything inside freezes. This is one of Master Lock's "winter proof" boxes.. but I don't think they accounted for rain one day and freezing the next! 🙂

A D-Icer bottle (you can find it in pretty much every department store at a really low price) left next to the lockbox will help guests if they can not unlock it because it's frozen. But make sure to write to procedure in your house manual!

Thank you, All.  Can someone help with how I open a lockbox that has been in 20 degree temp and is frozen?  I was able to move the number keys with an actual key but the lever won’t budge. Any help is appreciated, thank you!

@Rose1816  Hairdryer maybe?
